Building and Developing Tomorrow’s Construction Leader
The Builder Foundation is dedicated to inspiring and educating the next generation of construction leaders. Focused on residential and light commercial industries, The Foundation collaborates with schools, community colleges, and organizations to teach essential construction skills. Our mission includes providing mentoring, scholarships, employment opportunities, and a “Train the Trainer” program for teachers. Since 1993, we have evolved from The Playhouse Project into a robust program involving over 39 schools and 800 students. We are committed to closing the skilled labor gap and fostering rewarding careers in construction.
The Builders of the Future (TBF) program, part of The Builder Foundation, inspires and educates the next generation of construction leaders. Partnering with schools and organizations, TBF provides essential construction skills training, mentoring, scholarships, and employment opportunities. The program aims to close the skilled labor gap and foster rewarding careers in the construction industry.
The Builder Foundation’s Train the Trainer program equips Industrial Technology teachers with advanced construction skills and knowledge. Through partnerships with Metro Community College and Northeast Community College, the program offers hands-on training and professional development. This initiative aims to enhance the quality of construction education, ensuring teachers are well-prepared to mentor the next generation of construction professionals.
The Brian Carder Scholarship provides financial assistance to students enrolled in construction-related programs, honoring a respected professional. Additionally, the foundation offers the WSC Teacher Scholarships for Skilled and Technical Science teachers at Wayne State College, helping them enhance their skills and knowledge. These scholarships aim to bridge the skilled labor gap by empowering future construction leaders and educators.
