Student accounts are for students 13–17. Professional accounts are for job seekers out of high school, college students, or individuals who already have a part-time or full-time job. Educator accounts are for educators who teach in an elementary school, junior high, high school, or similar academic program. Business/Entity accounts are for a business or organization.
Follow the sign up process, verify your email, and fill in basic information about yourself to start building your resume. Build your customized feed by following your favorite businesses and organizations.
Signing up takes about 10 minutes and involves verifying your email address. Plan for a little more time to fill out the information about you or your organization that others see on your profile.
Check your spam and junk folders first — verification mail often lands there. If it still hasn't arrived, try signing up again with the same email, or write to Support@CareerPathway.com and we'll confirm your account by hand.
Yes. Student and Professional profiles are always free. We're paid by businesses and organizations, not by students.
Use your personal email address when you sign up, not a school-issued one — school accounts usually stop working after you graduate, and your personal address keeps your profile yours. If you'd like to move to a Professional profile after graduation, email Support@CareerPathway.com and we'll upgrade it once we've verified your email.
CareerPathway.com is a website, not an app, so it works on any device with a browser. To get an icon on your phone's home screen, open the site, tap "Share," then "Add to Home Screen."
Start on the Discover page and explore each industry and the businesses that work in it. From there you can expand into specific career paths and local opportunities in your area.
Yes — if you're under 18 you need a parent or guardian's permission, and you confirm you have it when you create your profile. Student profiles are private by default. A private profile shows only your name, and anyone who wants to see more has to send a follow request you approve. Nothing is visible outside a login: profiles are never on the open internet and never appear in search engines — only people signed in to CareerPathway.com can see them. A student can choose to make their profile viewable to other signed-in members in their profile settings. Students can't add a profile photo at all.
No. We do not sell or share personal information, and we do not use student activity to target advertising. Students can see and edit what's on their own profile. When we report on career interest to state partners, it is aggregated and anonymized — group-level counts only, never an identifiable student.
We follow COPPA and FERPA guidance, and we build to it — privacy defaults, no advertising to minors, and aggregate-only reporting. We are not formally certified under either, and we would rather tell you that than imply otherwise. If your district needs our data processing agreement or has a security review process, email Support@CareerPathway.com.
Yes. Students create their own accounts, so there's nothing to install and no roster to upload. Most teachers start by picking an industry on the Discover page, having students follow a few local businesses, and using one of our lesson plans to structure the session.
Yes, and they're free with no sign-up. The resource library has a 30, 60, or 90-minute lesson, a full semester course, printable classroom posters, student handouts, and event kits.
A basic business profile is free — it lets you market your company, post content, and build local reach. Business premium is $99 a month, or $1,069 for a year paid up front, and allows you to add every career your business offers, which positions are hiring, and the ability to accept resumes. Additional locations are $25 a month.
Yes — with a premium profile you can show open positions and accept resumes. Worth setting expectations, though: CareerPathway.com is not a job board. Most of our audience is 13 to 17 and years away from applying. The value is that they follow your business, watch what the work actually looks like, and know your name when they are ready.
Content is very similar to what you post on any other social media your business uses, but with student education in mind. Introduce yourself and your business, why you chose your profession, what you do in your company every day, how-to posts, and so on.
Chances are you do. Check your company's social media, your website, or your storage for photos and videos. Share pictures or videos you've already taken with descriptions that teach students more about what your business does, or start taking short videos straight from your phone.
Students and job seekers can find your profile and content several ways in Discover, but adding tags to your posts and career pathways is the easiest way for other users to find you.
